Terms of Service (AGB)
Welcome to Odo.club. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our matchmaking service.
1. Eligibility and Minimum Age
Odo.club is available to adults only. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for or hold a membership. By submitting an application you confirm that you have reached that age and that the date of birth you provide is your own and is accurate.
We reject applications that state an age below 18. If we become aware that a member is under 18, we will terminate the membership and delete the associated data.
2. The Application Process
By submitting an application to Odo.club, you agree to provide truthful and accurate information about your identity, background, and intentions. Applications are reviewed manually by our team. Submitting an application does not create a membership and is free of charge; no contract exists between us until we approve your application. We reserve the right to reject any application without providing detailed reasons — at this stage you have not yet become a member, and no content or service relationship exists for us to give an account of.
3. Trust & Safety
Applicants are required to complete an identity check, which may include submitting a photograph and completing a live selfie check. We review these submissions as part of the application process. Providing false or misleading information may result in rejection of your application or termination of your membership.
Odo.club is not a certification authority. Our review is a good-faith assessment based on the information available to us. It is not a legal identity verification, and we do not warrant the identity, background, or intentions of any member to any other member.
4. Member Conduct
Odo.club is a private community built on respect, honesty, and serious intentions. Harassment, scams, offensive language, or any behavior that violates our community guidelines will lead to a permanent ban. Members are expected to treat their matches with the utmost respect.
Unlike the application decision above, restricting an existing member — removing content, suspending or terminating a membership — is not a reasonless decision. Where we do so because of illegal content or a breach of these Terms, we will tell the member what action we took, the facts we relied on, and how to contest the decision, in line with Art. 17 of the EU Digital Services Act.
If you believe any content on Odo.club is illegal or violates these Terms, you can report it to impressum@odo.club, describing the content, where it can be found, and why you believe it is unlawful. We will confirm receipt and let you know the outcome.
5. Liability
We review applications carefully, but we cannot confirm every statement an applicant makes. Odo.club is not liable for the actions of individual members, for the accuracy of information provided by members, or for the outcome of any interaction between members, whether online or offline.
The above limitation does not apply to liability for damages arising from injury to life, body or health, to liability for intent or gross negligence, to liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), or to the breach of essential contractual obligations. Where we breach an essential contractual obligation through simple negligence, our liability is limited to the damage typically foreseeable at the time of contract conclusion.
6. How Matches Are Selected
Which profiles are shown to you, and to whom your profile is shown, is decided by an automated compatibility algorithm applied to the information you provide during onboarding (such as your location, age range, relationship intent, and answers to our value-based questions). No member of our team selects an individual match for an individual member. This differs from the review described in Section 2, which is a one-time, human check of your application before any membership exists, and from the identity check described in Section 3, which confirms who you are rather than who you are shown.
7. Membership Term and Termination
Once a paid membership is offered, this section will state the applicable term, any automatic renewal (limited to an indefinite term terminable with one month's notice, per § 309 no. 9 of the German Civil Code), and how to cancel — including a dedicated, login-free cancellation option on our website, and, for the first 14 days, your statutory right to withdraw from the contract without giving reasons. None of this exists yet because Odo.club does not currently charge for membership; this section will be updated, with a revised version date below, before it does.
